Judith Raye Paintings Participates in Coffee Creek Correctional Facility's Family Restoration Project
Posted on February 27, 2014
February, 2014 I had a unique opportunity to donate framed art prints to the female inmates at Coffee Creek Correctional Facilty in Wilsonville, Oregon. Each inmate chose a particular print that they wanted to gift to their child on Valentine's Day. Each print was matted and framed in a white frame. On February 14, 2014, each of the female inmates presented their child with a framed print, something special and different just for them. A gift that they could take home and hang on their wall as a reminder that they are loved by their mom. I also gifted to the inmates notecards with my whimsical animals. It is my hope that the art will bring a small sense of joy and happiness to each child, and restore a sense of innocence as they patiently wait on the other side of the fence for that day when their mom finally comes home to them.
